Before Charlie gets going on this page, on a beautiful day in summer, recuperating from heart surgery, I drove with my wife from Loch Ness to kinlochHourn and back.  The air was like wine, the twisty road completely traffic free, the blue sky and the birds above were enjoying it all as much as we were.  Absolutely fabulous day out, and grateful to be able to enjoy it before Old Father Time gets his hands on me !!

I am grateful to Charlie for painstakingly writing out all the next 93 pages in what I call his ‘Sunday Best’ writing, it has enabled me to reproduce his story in the original text for the sake of authenticity.  This is in contrast to his earlier writings which form the bulk of his output in a form of scribble in many instances.  Enjoy Knoydart !
