Maxstoke Castle in all its glory.

Described by Charlie as Telford’s masterpiece.

Sheltering nearby to the bridge is the famous Caernarvan Castle.  Completed in 1330 it stands proudly guarding the Menai Straits and Telford’s masterpiece !!

  The picture above was taken at Belmont in August 1924, probably before a club run, as Belmont was where a lot of Sunday runs started from.
