Today the atmosphere was particularly clear, and Charlie enjoys listing all the landmarks they manage to pick out today. Just the one part of the route where tramlines and collieries spoilt things, but all in all a successful run.
Charlie has never once explained how he comes, from time to time, to be mysteriously available for a weekday cycle ride. ‘Joe’ a member of the competing Bolton Wheelers cycling club provides the entertainment for this Saturday afternoon run. The very strong wind provided some of the action, and coupled with their youthful enthusiasm for half wheeling each other and their passion for narrow paths and off-road cycling they made quite an afternoon of it.
